Die Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Ost-Jerusalem hatte die Freude zwischen dem 10. und 12. Mai, Ronja Endres und Christian Beck, zwei junge Gewerkschaftsaktivist_innen vom Deutschen Gewerkschaftsbund (DGB), in Palästina zu begrüßen.
Die FES veranstaltete gemeinsam mit ihnen und dem palästinensischen Gewerkschaftsdachverband PGFTU, einem langjährigen Partner der FES, einen Workshop für Aktivist_innen der PGFTU-Jugend zum Thema “Stärkung der Gewerkschaftsjugendarbeit” in Nablus. Während des Workshops teilten die beiden Trainer_innen ihre Erfahrungen aus der Gewerkschafts-Jugendarbeit in Deutschland und auf der ganzen Welt und diskutierten gemeinsam mit den Teilnehmer_innen über die aktuelle Situation in Palästina und die Probleme und Ziele der Jugendlichen in den palästinensischen Gewerkschaften.
Darüber hinaus gaben sie in interaktiv gestalteten Einheiten wertvolle Impulse zu Themen wie Rekrutierungs- und Kampagnenstrategien für junge Gewerkschafter_innen sowie Möglichkeiten zur Verbesserung der Rechte von Arbeiter_innen und zur Sensibilisierung über die Probleme junger Arbeitnehmer_innen in der Gesellschaft. Einen Tag vor dem Beginn des Workshops in Nablus nahmen Ronja Endres und Christian Beck zur Vorbereitung an einer Reihe von politischen und sozioökonomischen Briefings und Touren teil, um sich mit dem palästinensischen Kontext vertraut zu machen. Neben dem Kennenlernen der Arbeit von PGFTU durch ihren Generalsekretär für öffentliche Angelegenheiten, Husain Al-Foqahaa besuchten sie den Qalandia Checkpoint sowie verschiedene politisch und wirtschaftlich wichtige Sehenswürdigkeiten in den in der West Bank gelegenen Städten Nablus und Ramallah.
