The Friedrich Ebert Foundation attaches the greatest importance to the protection of your personal data. It adheres strictly to the legal provisions governing the permissibility of the handling of personal data – in particular the EU General Data Protection Regulation (DS-GVO) and the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) – and has taken the necessary technical and organizational measures for data protection.
The following notes are intended to give you an overview of how we ensure this protection, in particular what type of data we collect, process and use for what purposes and what rights are granted to you by law.

When registering to receive the newsletter, the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung pays close attention to compliance with the substantive and formal requirements for proper consent (Article 7 DS-BER). You always have the option of retrieving the content of your consent form. In addition, you can revoke your consent to the processing and use of your data at any time (Article 7 para. 3 DS-GVO); this also applies to the revocation of a declaration of consent that you had given to the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung before 25 May 2018 (application of the DS-GVO). Cancellation (Right to be Forgotten)
Subject to statutory retention requirements, the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung will delete your data once the purpose underlying the storage has been achieved, you have revoked your consent or one of the other cases listed in Article 17 DS-BER.

Newsletter
In order to join the FES Palestine mailing list, you have to be subscribed. Subscription needs an email address where double-opt in procedure is enabled. This means a confirmation email is sent to your email address when subscribing to our list. This procedure is put in place in order to make sure that only the rightful owner of the email address receives our newsletter.
The FES Palestine newsletter platform is provided by Mailchimp. It is a US online marketing company operated by The Rocket Science Group LLC and has certified its compliance with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework and the Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework. Yet, it is obliged to act according to the General Data Protection Regulations and abide by the EU data protection law (as specified in the Mailchimp "Customer EU Data Processing Addendum 8.2. Where required by law, Mailchimp will collect personal information only where they have our consent to do so.
Mailchimp data protection rights enable us to access, correct, update or request deletion of your personal information in accordance with applicable data protection laws. In case you no longer want to receive our newsletter, you can opt-out at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the newsletter sent to you, or contact us directly to update or delete your data.
After you unsubscribe, Mailchimp will mark your email as unsubscribed so you don’t receive our newsletter anymore. However, Mailchimp keeps the email address in our unsubscribed list. If you wish to permanently delete your email from our records, please contact us directly by sending us an email to info(at)fespal.org in order to manually delete it from Mailchimp.

Your Rights
You have the right at any time to obtain information about the data stored by the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung on your person, their origin and recipient, the purpose of the storage as well as to provide further information in accordance with Article 15 DS-GVO, § 34 BDSG. You have the right to demand the correction of incorrect data concerning you (Article 16 DS-BER).

You have the rights to restriction of processing according to Article 18 of the GDPR, to data transferability acc. Article 20 of the DS-BER and opposition to Article 21. Insofar as the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung uses your data for sending event announcements, publication offers or other information (direct mail), you may object to their use for these purposes; the data will then no longer be processed and used for these purposes (Article 21 (2), 3 DS-BER).
