Report YL Workshop Bethlehem

Between 13 and 15 September, the Young Leaders Program hosted a workshop titled “Project and Time Management and Proposal Writing”. The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) together with its partner, the Women’s Affairs Technical Committee (WATC), organized the three-day event in the city of Bethlehem.

The workshop was introduced with a welcome speech by the organizers and a basic introduction on the goal setting of the training by the trainer Wael Al-Ashi, Consultant in Project Management and proposal writing. In the first session on Project Management, the Young Leaders learned the essentials of project cost management and human resources management. In the following session they were provided with an opportunity to deepen their knowledge in the fields of project cycle management, project procurement and determined the importance of risk management.

In order to make our Young leaders more familiar with the historic sites of Palestine, the group visited the Mar Saba monastery nearby Bethlehem and enjoyed a short historical walk on the second workshop day.

On the third day, trainer Wael Al-Ashi conducted a discussion on methodology developing skills and budgeting between participants and gave some practical examples to relevant theories. The final part of the workshop, conducted by FES Program Manager Nidal Alayasa, shifted the focus to creating initiatives as an outcome of the workshop. The workshop in Bethlehem marks the end of our third Young Leaders generation workshop series. FES would like to thank all Young Leaders for their participation, hard work and the great cooperation.
